Q: When will my back ordered item ship?

Q: What is the status of my order?  
A: If you check on-line in the customer service area you will be able to view the status of your order. Text reservations are often marked not received until the "month before classes" start date. Other orders go through a process so that they are shipped as complete as possible. If we have any questions about your order we will contact you with the information that you provide. <top>
Q: When do I receive my confirmation?  
A: Your order is confirmed once the staff in the bookstore receives your order for processing. <top>
Q: Why can we only make a reservation until 45 days before classes begin?  
A:  We wait till 30 days before the beginning of the term to process orders for several reasons. Here are a few:
  • The majority of the books are received within 30 days of the start of classes with the receiving process continuing through the start of classes.
  • There is sometimes a delay in the books selection for the instructor.
  • By waiting till 30 days before classes start we have a better chance of providing a more complete list.
  • Used book shipments are the last of the large shipments to arrive and are almost always processed a month before classes begin.

Q: When will my order ship?  
A: Textbook order processing takes about a day. We pull Web orders on a regular basis and fill them in the order in which they are received. After in-store processing, we ship your order - most often by United Parcel Service (UPS). Typically, UPS takes a day to deliver a package locally. We cannot quote the delivery schedule in your area or for UPS. However, once shipped, orders take no more than two days to arrive.

Orders for gifts and other items typically take one to two days to be processed. These orders are shipped in the same manner that the textbook orders are and - depending on your location - take two to six days to reach you. When other product lines become available - school and office supplies, computers & computer accessories - there will be other shipping options.

Q: How do I track my order?  
A: You can view the status of your order any time from the Customer Service Center of our site. Once your order is processed and shipped an e-mail will be sent that will include a link to the UPS tracking system. Click on the link and you will be able to view the status of your shipment. <top>
Q: Can I buy used books on-line?  
A: Yes. Used books are available and help curve the total cost of your book bill. Used books are priced at 25% less than new books and are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. <top>
Q: What if the used book has too many markings?  
A: We have no control over the condition of the pages (cribbing and markings). If a title is not to your liking, just return that title. A return policy card will be attached to your receipt. Be certain to follow the directions for making returns and exchanges that are listed on the card. <top>
Q: How do I make a return?  
A: You can bring the title into the store for your refund or exchange. This is one of the quickest methods of processing this type of transaction. You could also ship your return to the B-W Bookstore for processing. This would take the additional days of shipping on both ends of the transaction. Remember to include a COPY of your receipt with your return. <top>
Q: How do I return a gift or clothing order?  
A: Carefully package the item and return it to the bookstore along with a COPY of your receipt and a brief note explaining the reason for the return. Once we receive your return we will either credit the account you charged or fill your order with the correct item, size or color. And as always, if you are local you can stop in at the store any time during our regular business hours. <top>
Q: What if my book is out-of-stock?  
A: We hold backorders of textbooks and fill those orders on a first-come-first-serve basis. That is when a shipment arrives we will pull books for the orders that are placed through the system and for those who have reserved the title in the bookstore placing the remaining titles on the shelf for sale. By reserving or backordering you are guaranteed to receive books from the first shipments of your text. You are also helping us determine a more accurate need for the title. (Some classes fill or over-enroll during the first week of classes). Please check for your reserved copy before taking a copy of the title you need from the shelf. <top>
Q: What if my item is out-of-stock?  
A: Though we try to reorder many of our items, many of the clothing and gifts are only available seasonally. If an item is out-of-stock and is scheduled to be coming we will inform you by e-mail. Likewise, if an item will not be returning to inventory we will contact you by e-mail. We will keep our site current with availability and display the most recent of these items that are available for you to purchase.
